cavus bay

Cavus bay is a very small resort on the mediterranean coast of Turkey. Very small.
If you like a quiet holiday this is the place for you.
A good selection of hotels, restaurants and a beach and very little else-exept for a very friendly community that really looks after its visitors.
The bay itself is about a mile wide backed at the northern end by a fertile valley leading through cultivated areas and pine woods to the main coast road and mountains.
The southern end, round the wooded spur in the photo (left), is where most of the businesses are. The wetland area here is totally enclosed by hills which rise to 3000 ft.
Situated about 2 hours from Antalya where the nearest airport is. The road from the airport is very scenic ( if you don't have a night flight).The last 40 minutes or so is on a single track road down through woods and cultivated areas.
Inland from Cavus is the village of Adrasan with a shop a couple of bars and a Doctor. There is also a local market on Sunday.
The bay itself has a long beach tending towards shingle at the northern end but sand towards the south. The north end is were the river flows into the bay and is home to the river restaurants. A long walk from the busy end of the bay but you can arrange transport there and back.

It is the southern end were most of the hotels and restaurants are.

Most of the businesses here are owned and run by Turkish people who are some of the friendliest people on the planet.
Do not expect heaving nightlife and rowdy bars because after dark everything becomes very low key. Not dead- just nice. Civillised.
